8-Day Classic China Tour for First-Time Foreign Visitors (Shanghai Round Trip, Including Suzhou, Hangzhou & Guilin)

Tour Overview

This well-arranged 8-day round-trip itinerary starts and ends in Shanghai, covering three featured travel themes: classical Jiangnan water towns and gardens, world-famous Guilin karst landscape and modern Shanghai metropolis.

Route: Shanghai → Suzhou → Hangzhou → Guilin & Yangshuo → Shanghai

Day 1 Shanghai – Arrival

International arrival at Shanghai Airport, private transfer and hotel check-in. Only casual downtown walk to relieve travel fatigue, no intensive sightseeing.

Day 2 | Suzhou – Classical Jiangnan Gardens

Take short high-speed train from Shanghai to Suzhou. Visit Humble Administrator’s Garden and Suzhou Museum; wander Pingjiang Road and take canal boat in the evening. Return to Suzhou hotel for overnight stay.

Days 3–5: Hangzhou → Guilin

West Lake cruise, Leifeng Pagoda, tea culture experience in Longjing Village, full Li River cruise, Yulong River bamboo rafting, etc.

Day 3 Hangzhou – West Lake Scenery

Take high-speed train from Suzhou to Hangzhou. Take West Lake cruise and visit Leifeng Pagoda; stroll Hefang Street at night. Stay overnight in Hangzhou.

Day 4 Hangzhou → Guilin

Visit Longjing Tea Village to experience tea culture in the morning; take direct flight to Guilin in the afternoon. Transfer and check into hotel after arrival, then take Two Rivers & Four Lakes night cruise.

Day 5 Guilin & Yangshuo – Karst Landscape Essence

Take full classic Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, transfer and check into hotel in Yangshuo; wander West Street slowly at night.

Day 6 ：Leisure cycling in Yangshuo countryside and relaxing Yulong River bamboo rafting; take daytime flight back to Shanghai after dinner.

Day 7 ：Arrive Shanghai, transfer and check into hotel; visit The Bund, Yu Garden and City God Temple to appreciate the unique night view combining traditional and modern Shanghai styles.

Day 8: In-depth Modern City Tour for the Whole Day

Stroll along Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, visit the skyscraper cluster in Lujiazui and the observation deck of the Shanghai Tower. Free time will be reserved for shopping. You will then be transferred by private car to Shanghai International Airport to complete departure procedures, marking a perfect end to the entire itinerary.
